Town Business

I’m back with another lit blog, so let’s get into it. Our collaboration with Rootsovdopeness was nothing short of amazing. I’m so proud of my team and the outcome from the photoshoot. I can honestly say, we did that. The pictures were great as usual; Rose and Drea were the perfect duo, and I was able to create some ‘FYA’ ass IG reels from my BTS video clips as well. Three, in all. One really cool thing about recording my own BTS clips is that I never know what kind of magic I’ll create. It’s usually not until I get home and go over the material to see what I have. Then, I start the painstaking task of editing the clips to create something and that can take a few days or longer. Thanks to apps like Mojo, Videoleap, and CapCut, which provide a variety of ways to create visually stunning videos, I have a lot more versatility and I can dig deep in my bag of ideas to see what I can come up with.

Of all the apps that I mentioned, CapCut is by far my favorite. In fact, it’s been a game changer for me. I mean, I was already pretty good at creating BTS videos to promote the brand, but thanks to CapCut’s cinematic templates, my reels are more dynamic. Like I said, I never know what kind of magic I’ll create. For this shoot, I did a trilogy, but that wasn’t the plan initially. It just kind of happened that way. And all three videos (which are currently posted on IG) have done extremely well in terms of likes and views. It’s probably some of my best work yet. The first reel is a mix of BTS clips of what’s to come. Sort of like a teaser from the collaboration. I added Mary J. Blige’s ‘Family Affair'(instrumental) as the audio for the reel, and it worked perfectly. The second reel features a mix of photos of Rose and Drea with a colored background. I used Notorious B.I.G.’s ‘The World Is Filled…’ as the audio for this one and it was also FYA. The third reel, which is my favorite, is a combination of BTS clips and photos of Rose and Drea on the staircase in the studio. This reel was the culmination of the entire shoot. I added a snippet from Mariah Carey’s ‘Type Dangerous’ as the audio and the reel took off.

I can’t say enough about the talented people that were involved with making this brand shoot possible. J-Cam is a dope photographer, and I’d even say that he might even be a little underrated. This was our third photoshoot together and we make a great team. I really like his work. Likewise, Rose and Drea were great, too. They both came prepared and ready to work. Like I said, they were the perfect for this collaboration. They actually complement each other in the photos. And kudos to Andrea. She knew the assignment and came through with flying colors. The bucket hats were on point. The colors, the style, everything. We will definitely be doing more collaborations together in the future.

In other news, I finally got my LLC. It took me awhile, but I finally did it. And this is just the beginning. I still have a lot of work to do in terms of getting all of the proper documents like my seller’s permit and business license. At least now though, FYA Brand is officially a legitimate business. I’m also working on our fall collection which will feature new colors of the ‘Spaceman’, ‘Bubble Gum’, and ‘Bad Girls’ tees. We will also be dropping a couple of new t shirt designs and a new hoodie as well. So, be sure to stay tuned.
