Another One
I recently completed my fourth brand shoot on Saturday, August 31st, 2024. This time around, we were shooting at a studio in San Leandro for the first time. The location was recommended by J Camelot, the photographer I worked with at my prior shoot in Sacramento. I would also be working with a new photographer for the first time who was also recommended by J Camelot. His name is Bryson, and we had spoken on the phone a couple of times prior to the event. I liked his energy and personality almost immediately. So, I felt good about the opportunity to work with him. Bryson was joined by Drea, who is also a photographer, to help with prep work and BTS (behind the scenes) stuff. She was cool and energetic too, so the vibe on set was nice.
The reason I had to do another brand shoot is because even though we took a lot of photos in Sacramento, I didn’t have the right pictures to feature on the website. See, that’s the thing, three or four hours for a brand shoot may sound like a lot of time, but when you have 4 or 5 models, and a bunch of outfit changes, that time literally flies by. The models for the shoot were my brand ambassadors, Aaliyah, Rose, Nae, and a new model, Olivia. Unfortunately, Mary Jane couldn’t make it. Once again, the focus was on showcasing the new women’s merch. The studio itself was a nice size, plus, there was a kitchen, and a changing area for the models. Bryson and Drea were there when I arrived. Along with Rose and her husband. We chopped it up for a minute, and then it was time to get to work.
The shoot was scheduled from 3pm-7pm, but we were putting in work until almost nine. Drea was especially helpful with her attention to detail, and having a woman behind the camera was definitely beneficial. Bryson made sure that we were on the same page throughout the shoot, and between the three of us, everything was flowing in the right direction. The models did their thang as well. All in all, the brand shoot was a huge success. We definitely created some ‘FYA’ that day. Oh, and a big shout out to Michael for giving us the added studio time. We needed every minute of it to do what we do.
